Maitolaituri Cafe & Shop, also known as Maitsikka is a lunch café in the heart of the small village of Enonkoski, in South Savo. Our premises also has a small, characterful shop offering local handicrafts, gifts and home items, as well as a changing selection of natural cosmetics.
At Maitolaituri, we serve a traditional Finnish home-style lunch. All our wonderfully fragrant, freshly baked pastries are lovingly made on-site. We also offer catering services and prepare meals, cakes, and other treats to order for celebrations and events. So take a moment to stop by and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and a pastry, a tasty lunch, or a local beer from Karvilan Panimo. You are warmly welcome!

Catering, events and meetings
We offer catering and event services in Enonkoski and the surrounding areas. We always tailor the food and arrangements according to the customer’s wishes, ensuring everything fits the theme and nature of the celebration. If you need a venue for birthdays, hunting festivities (hirvipeijaiset), memorial services, meetings, or any other event, feel free to ask us for an offer!
Our Tonkka cabinet at Maitolaituri can accommodate up to 20 people, and the main dining hall has seating for over 100 guests. The spaces can also be arranged for private events during café opening hours. We handle both large and small celebrations with a full “turnkey” service, either in our own premises or at a location chosen by the customer.
Our staff has many years of experience in catering, and throughout Maitolaituri’s history we have successfully carried out numerous events of all kinds. You can also order all the savory and sweet pastries and cakes you need for life’s special occasions from us!

Inside the café, you’ll also find a small boutique corner offering Finnish natural cosmetics, local handmade products, souvenirs, children’s books, and much more. Our selection includes products from well-known Finnish natural cosmetics brands.
We do not have an online store, but if you can’t find a specific item you’re looking for or a product you regularly use, feel free to let us know! There’s nothing better than buying your favourite items close to home while supporting local entrepreneurship at the same time.
